Family First Support Center chooses to use the best research-based clinical practices available that meet the needs of our consumers.
Seeking Safety
Seeking Safety is a therapy for trauma/posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse. It was begun in 1992, under grant funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse and developed by Lisa M. Najavitis, PhD at Harvard Medical School/McLean Hospital.
Parent Management Training (PMT)
In PMT, parent-child interactions are modified in ways that are designed to promote prosocial child behavior and to decrease antisocial or oppositional behavior in the home and at school. Noted for bringing together the conceptual and empirical bases of this treatment, Dr. Alan Kazdin is Director and Chairman of the Child Study Center and John M. Musser Professor of Psychology at Yale University School of Medicine. He also directs The Child Conduct Clinic at Yale University, an outpatient treatment service for children and their families.
